NMSU offers certification course for food and beverage professionals

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State University’s College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences will host an online training and certification course designed for acidified food and beverage manufacturing industry professionals.
The course, titled “Better Process Control School (BPCS) for Acidified Foods Online Course,” will be offered in four sessions over two weeks, live online. Cost of the course is $375. The course will take place via Zoom from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 21 and 22, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 28 and 29. Students will complete exams using Moodle or a similar online exam platform.
Food entrepreneurs who hope to sell their goods to restaurants, farmers markets and other institutions can now learn about the best food safety practices at the University of Wyoming Extensionâs upcoming training sessions, happening from March 2 to March 4.
âWe know that a lot of people are thinking of being an entrepreneur within food production, and we want them to do it as well as they can,â said Cole Ehmke, the workshop organizer and university specialist in agricultural entrepreneurship and personal finance. âMost people donât have a background in food science, and so they may not know some of the risks. Thatâs what these trainings are all about.â

March is Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) Month at Michigan State University. ANR Month (formerly ANR Week) has served as a platform for enterprising new developments in agriculture and natural resources in Michigan since 1914.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State University (MSU) will celebrate Michigan’s impact and contributions to agriculture and natural resources during Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) Month.
Jointly sponsored by the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR), MSU AgBioResearch and MSU Extension, a series of events will be offered throughout March. In prioritizing the health and safety of our faculty, staff, students, and the public, each of these events will be held in an online format.
Professional Biography:
Christine is an experienced product liability litigation and regulatory compliance attorney with more than 20 years of experience defending manufacturers and laboratories in complex cases in which medical and scientific facts were at issue. She focuses her practice on food and beverage regulation and litigation, as well as smoking and health litigation.
In her practice defending food product manufacturers, Christine relies on her first-hand experience as a small business owner of a company that makes snacks inspired by the dietary restrictions of her children on the autistic spectrum. Establishing this company has required her to navigate state and federal regulatory hurdles, giving her a client’s perspective on the compliance process and related disputes.
