POLICE investigations are continuing into an alleged wounding at Cooloola Cove at the weekend which left a man in hospital with slashes on his arm and hand.
The 34-year-old was injured during an alleged altercation between two groups of people at a private residence just before 5pm on Saturday. The alleged incident happened at a private residence in the town on Saturday afternoon.
He was taken to Gympie Hospital with lacerations to his arm and hand before being transferred to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Police said the two groups appeared to know each other.
No-one has been charged at this time.

Subscriber only Police are investigating an alleged assault as a woman was left with serious head injuries after being punched in the face outside the Caloundra CBX Hotel. Caloundra Police Station officer-in-charge John Mahoney said police were called to the incident at 1.20am on Sunday, after three people fought outside CBX, on Bulcock St. Senior Sergeant Mahoney said a 25-year-old Caboolture man allegedly punched a woman on the side of the face, causing her to fall to the ground and strike her head on the concrete. The 38-year-old woman was left with a non-life-threatening but serious head injury.

UPDATE 5.45am Monday: A 31-year-old Maroochydore man is expected to face court today following the alleged serious assault of a man early Saturday morning. A 50-year-old Kuluin man was in critical condition at Royal Brisbane Women s Hospital after he suffered serious head injuries around 1.30am Saturday. Police investigations suggest the man was punched in the face before falling backwards on a hard surface. A 31-year-old has been charged with grievous bodily harm, possessing dangerous drugs and drug utensils. He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday, December 21.
Earlier, Sunday: A man is fighting for his life after he was allegedly seriously assaulted on the Sunshine Coast early Saturday morning.

Queensland has gone a second day without recording a new case of COVID-19 in the community, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has confirmed, but there have been frustrations with contact tracing efforts due to poor or non-existent venue details.
The state recorded two new cases among returned overseas travellers, Ms Palaszczuk said in an update posted to social media on Sunday morning.
