Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 14 inaugurated a slew of projects, including a Rs 6,000 crore petrochemical complex of oil major Bharat Petroleum and vessels of Inland Waterways at Willingdon Islands, in the poll-bound state of Kerala, which he said will help the country grow.

The government function where Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled several key projects for Tamil Nadu at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium here on Sunday offered a platform for political parties in the AIADMK-BJP electoral alliance to come together ahead of the Assembly election.
Soon after the function concluded, AIADMK co-coordinator and Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami was believed to have had a private meeting with Mr. Modi. Representatives of allies were seen seated among the audience.

CHENNAI: Just ahead of the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated some completed projects, including phase-1 extension of Chennai Metro Rail, and laid foundation stones for some others. He handed over the indigenously designed, developed and manufactured Arjun Main Battle Tank (MK-1 A) to the Army.
The projects of the state and central governments, aimed at taking Tamil Nadu to a higher growth trajectory, were launched at a packed Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.
Flanked by chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam, Modi commissioned the passenger services of Chennai Metro Rail between Washermenpet and Wimco Nagar. The phase-1 extension of the metro rail, costing Rs 3,770 crore, covers a distance of 9.05km, linking North Chennai with the Airport and Central railway station.
