THE FLATS – Sophomores McKenzie Campbell and Brooke Switzer have both earned invitations to participate at the 2021 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming Championships. The meet will be held March 17-20 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

To earn an invitation to compete at the NCAA Championships, swimmers had to of met established time standards in meets throughout the season.
Campbell earned an invite in the 400 IM (4:12.02) and 200 fly (1:56.52), while Switzer was listed to compete in the 200 free (1:45.62). Campbell owns the 30th best time in the country in the 400 IM, while also owning the No. 33 200 fly mark.
Georgia Tech Athletics Officially Wraps Up AI 2020
THE FLATS – Highlighted by more than $100 million raised to construct new state-of-the-art facilities, Athletics Initiative 2020, Georgia Tech athletics three-year, $125-million fundraising initiative, far surpassed its initial goal by raising a total of $175.39 million in gifts and commitments, director of athletics
Todd Stansbury announced on Thursday.
Despite the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic over the final 10 months of the 36-month initiative, the $175.39 million that Georgia Tech benefactors donated to AI 2020 from January 1, 2018-December 31, 2020 exceeded the $125 million goal by more than 40%.

Tech Travels to Clemson on Friday, Host Georgia Southern on Sunday
THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis heads to Clemson for an ACC road match with the Tigers at 5 p.m. (EST) on Friday, March 5, before returning home for a 1 p.m. (EST) Sunday contest against Georgia Southern at the Byers Tennis Complex to close out the weekend.
The Yellow Jackets (6-5, 1-3 ACC) recently dropped a pair of ACC matches last weekend to Duke & No. 1 North Carolina. Clemson (5-6, 1-3 ACC) and Georgia Tech were both tied at spot No. 44 in the most recent ITA Division I Men’s National Rankings. Georgia Southern (7-2, 0-0 Sun Belt) is on a five game winning streak and will take on Davidson on Friday and Florida Atlantic on Saturday prior to playing Tech on Sunday.

Georgia Tech update – The Yellow Jackets, winners of five straight games and 8-5 since its 17-day COVID pause, are alone in fifth place in the ACC standings and have a NCAA NET ranking of No. 40. Tech’s current surge began with a 71-65 home win over Pitt on Feb. 14, and continued with a pair of big road wins at Miami (87-60) and No. 16 Virginia Tech (69-53) and home wins over Syracuse (84-77) and Duke (81-77).
