From The Tribune staff reports BESSEMER Bessemer police are investigating after a 35-year-old woman was struck and killed by a passing vehicle on Wednesday morning. The decedent, according to a report from the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, was a pedestrian walking in the 1100 block of 9th Avenue SW in Bessemer when she was struck by a motor vehicle. The coroner’s office identified her as Holly Jo Dunn, of Birmingham.  The collision took place early Wednesday morning at approximately 4:14 a.m. Dunn was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later. The Bessemer Police Department is investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck.
