BIRMINGHAM A man was arrested for the second time in less than a month when Trussville Police conducted a search warrant at a Birmingham home, on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.
A Jefferson County judge granted the search warrant to detectives investigating drug activity. During the search of the home in the 4600 block of 11th Avenue North, in Birmingham, several items were seized, including marijuana and cocaine.
Eric Brooks Pope, 42, of Birmingham, was taken into custody and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana first-degree, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Members of the Trussville Police Department’s Special Response Team (SRT), Direct Enforcement Unit (DEU), and Criminal Investigations Division (CID) reportedly found 1.4 ounces of marijuana and 1.5 grams of cocaine inside the home, along with digital scales containing drug residue. Also seized were two pistols and $10,838 in cash.

Chauvin, a former Minneapolis Police officer, was found guilty of second degree murder, third degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the May 2020 death of George Floyd.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL A major drug raid by the Jefferson County Sheriff s Office resulted in three arrests Tuesday. Deputies seized 292 grams of methamphetamine, 256 grams of cocaine, 20 grams of heroin, 6.57 grams of marijuana, three firearms, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia and more than $4,800 in currency.
The search took place in the 500 block of 14th Street Southwest in Birmingham after an extensive investigation into possible drug activity.

Brent D Vaughn Alves, Jr., 26, who was charged with trafficking in narcotics and obstruction of justice. His bonds total $515,000.
