(WDAM) - The Jones County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a teenage girl who reportedly ran away from home nearly three months ago. The sheriff’s office said 16-year-old Jamiya McNeal was last seen Nov. 13, 2020 at her home on Tuckers Crossing Road. Investigators believe Jamiya could be in Meridian or elsewhere in Lauderdale County. Anyone with information on the teen’s whereabouts is asked to call the Jones County Sheriff’s Office at 601-425-3147 or Jones County Crime Stoppers at 601-428-7867.

(WDAM) - The Jones County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of a deadly shooting Monday morning. According to the sheriff’s office, 27-year-old Efrain Ortiz died after being shot several times at a mobile home park on Bush Dairy Road around 7:30 a.m. Luis Sandoval is wanted for capital murder in the shooting and should be “considered armed and dangerous.” Scene of deadly shooting on Bush Dairy Road in Jones County. Jones County COVID-19 vaccination drive thru clinic

Officials in Jones County pulled key resources together in order to vaccinate those most vulnerable when it comes to catching the coronavirus.  On Tuesday, the county held a drive-thru vaccination clinic at the Jones County Civic Center. Residents age 65 and older were the focus group for the clinic as people began lining up around 2:30 a.m. that morning in order to get the Moderna vaccine.   Interim Health Director Ann Pike and members from the Jones County Health Department along with Jones County Emergency Services, Jones County Sheriff s Office, local rotarian groups and the National Guard joined together to work to the clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
