Two people arrested in connection with drug discovery in Clydebank Two people have been arrested in connection with the recovery of £70,000 worth of drugs.  The substance, believed to be Etizolam, was seized on Friday around 9.15am as officers searched an address in Auchencraig Road, Faifley, Clydebank. A 41-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.  They are due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Saturday, 3 April, with a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Detective Inspector Fiona Macarthur, from Argyll & Bute and West Dunbartonshire Serious and Organised Crime Team, said: “This recovery is a significant one and will have an impact on those who peddle drugs in our local communities.

child neglect child cruelty 2 A WOMAN who exposed her children to an insect-infested home with animal urine and faeces has been put under the supervision of social workers for the next 18 months. The 36-year-old, who legally can’t be identified to protect her children, previously admitted wilfully neglecting and exposing the children in a manner likely to cause them unnecessary suffering or injury to health. On October 6, 2019, at a property in the Vale of Leven, she failed to provide lodgings which were safe and of an adequate standard of hygiene. In particular, the charges stated, she exposed them to toxic substances, including animal urine and faeces, and allowed them to live at the property when it was infested with insects.

Kilwinning motorcycle death: Man appears in court

Gavin Aitken, 47, of West Dunbartonshire, appeared in private at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Friday morning. He is charged under section 1 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 with causing death by dangerous driving. The 47-year-old made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination. Sheriff John Hamilton granted him bail. Liam Scott, 21, originally from Kilwinning, died in hospital on September 2, 2020, two days after a crash on the trunk road between Duck Bay Marina and Arden. Mr Scott was reportedly a passenger on the motorbike involved. A 23-year-old man who was at the controls of the motorbike was injured, but was later discharged from hospital.
