After Punjab, Delhi government on Monday said that pharmaceutical giants have refused to sell vaccines directly to the state governments.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal told reporters today that the US pharmaceutical giants Pfizer and Moderna have made it clear that they will deal with the central government only.

New Delhi [India], May 24 (ANI): Delhi is facing a shortage of a drug used to treat black fungus or mucormycosis as the number of such cases has reached nearly 500 in the national capital, said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday.
Addressing the reporters here, Kejriwal said: The cases of black fungus in the national capital are on surge. Nearly 500 cases have been reported so far. Due to the rise in the number of black fungus cases, there is a shortage of injections used in the treatment of this disease.

On Sunday, 1,649 cases and 189 deaths were recorded, while the positivity rate had dipped to 2.42 per cent.
Delhi recorded 1,550 new Covid-19 cases and 207 deaths in the past 24 hours, with the positivity rate slipping to 2.52 per cent, data shared by the health department showed.
The infection count was below the 2,000-mark for the second consecutive day and the lowest since March 27 when 1,558 cases were reported.
Stressing on the fact that vaccination is the need of the hour, and the shield to protect people against the coronavirus, Sisodia said they ve talked to Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson and Johnson for vaccines. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday stated that Pfizer and Moderna have denied to sell coronavirus vaccines directly to the national capital, and have said that they will only speak with the Centre.
Sisodia said in an online briefing that all 400 vaccination sites for the 18-44 age group in Delhi have been closed due to a shortage of vaccines, while the centers administering Covaxin to the 45+ age group, healthcare staff, and frontline workers have also been shut due to unavailability of jabs.
