COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Set For Friday in Toppenish While Yakima Health District Officials say there s no plan for a mass vaccination site at Yakima s State Fair Park this week a vaccination site will be open in Toppenish on Friday. Officials at Astria Health are working with the Toppenish School District to open the site Friday, March 5. The COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be held at Toppenish Middle School located at 104 Goldendale Avenue in Toppenish. The clinic will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and you can t make an appointment. That s because the clinic will serve those on a first come first serve basis.So even though the clinic is set to happen from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. it could close earlier if they run out of vaccine. Not everyone is eligible for the vaccine. Pfizer vaccines are available to Phase 1A and Phase 1B-Tier 1 Community members. Double Drive-By Shooting Still Under Investigation As Yakima Police continue to investigate a drive-by shooting reported February 24 in which two teens were injured the Yakima County Prosecutors Office is developing charging documents but so far two juveniles being held behind bars won t face assault charges in connection with the shootings. Authorities say they don t have the evidence to connect the juveniles with either shooting in which two victims were injured. Prosecutor Joe Brusic says while there s no plan for assault charges at this time the two juveniles do face possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding and unlawful possession of a firearm charges.

Despite COVID Challenges It s Been a Great Year at White Pass

(Scroll down for the audio from our interview) The General Manager of the White Pass Ski Area says COVID-19 has been challenging this year but it hasn t stopped a record amount of people from visiting and enjoying the outdoors. Kevin McCarthy says despite the COVID-19 challenges it s been a very successful season with lots of people enjoying skiing and riding. In fact McCarthy says it s been one of the best seasons in years. It s March and that s usually the time the ski are holds its annual Winter Carnival something that s been happening for more than 30-years. Because of COVID-19 concerns the carnival has been cancelled however a large snow castle has been constructed in front of the day lodge in honor of one of the past builders and friends of White Pass Dave Ruby. Ruby passed away late last year and his fellow snow castle builders decided to build the castle this year in his honor.
