MANILA, Apr. 18 The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is committed to strengthen its e-governance and e-services initiatives that cater to the local business sector to further improve ease of doing business in the Philippines as the conduct of the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Survey for 2021 by the World Bank draws near.
“Your DICT, in partnership with other key agencies, continues to do its best to develop and implement programs and initiatives towards achieving true ease of doing business in the country and to provide better e-services to the Filipino people,” DICT Secretary Gregorio B. Honasan II said.
March 04, 2021 AUTOMATED systems and processes including an online payment method accessible to applicant investors or current locators in economic zones will soon be adopted in the Mactan Economic Zone, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza) said.
Peza Director General Charito Plaza said this is part of the agency’s initiatives in line with Republic Act 11032, also known as the “Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Services Delivery Act of 2019” that aims to improve transaction systems and procedures.
“Economic zones in Mactan and Baguio City will begin using the system in the next few weeks with the scanners recently deployed,” Plaza said.
The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has shifted to automated systems and processes in a bid to enhance the agency's procedures and provide a more efficient service to the public.
