Eminent painter Qudsia Nisar remembered Karachi May 6, 2021 The recipient of the Presidential Pride of Performance Award in 2018, Qudsia Nisar, who was a preeminent painter of Pakistan, passed away in Islamabad on 27th April 2021, according to a statement issued by the media manager, CMC (Pvt.) Ltd. She had been suffering from various ailments for the past several months in Karachi until her brother and other family members moved her to Islamabad in March 2021, where, despite medical care, her condition worsened. As a highly prolific painter, Qudsia Nisar was widely recognised by art critics as being the pioneer of using water colour in Pakistan to express abstract visions of modern art without using conventional figures and forms.

Vietnam Children’s Fine Arts Awards 2021 to be held Monday, 2021-05-03 17:55:26  Font Size:     |   NDO – The Vietnam Children’s Fine Arts Awards 2021 is scheduled to be held to encourage and facilitate the development of children s fine arts inside and outside school, according to the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The biennial event will be held for children aged 5-15 across the country. The Organizing Committee will begin to receive entries from May 25 to July 5, at the head office of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition at No.38 Cao Ba Quat street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi.

Ravi Shankar Patnaik, a faculty member of the Fine Arts Department of Andhra University, died of cardiac arrest on Thursday night. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. Ravi Shankar Patnaik had served as Head of the Department in the past. Many of the statues in AU campus, were made by him. He was one among the few prominent sculptors in the country, whose works have been put up in different States.
