Anger following daylight attempted robbery in Enniskillen

THERE was widespread anger yesterday, Wednesday, following an attempted robbery that saw the perpetrator allegedly attempt to stab a member of staff in a busy Enniskillen shop. Shoppers and staff at Loane’s Costcutters on the Cornagrade road detained a man yesterday morning and held him to the ground after he allegedly attempted to stab a member of staff in the shop. PSNI officers later arrested a man and woman in relation to the incident, that also saw two people subsequently hospitalised. A Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) spokesperson said: “We received a 999 call at 10.21 on Wednesday, May 26 following reports of an incident in the Cornagrade Road area of Enniskillen.

Coronavirus: Vaccination day held for adults with a learning disability in Fermanagh

A second vaccination day was recently held by the Western Health and Social Care Trust for service users known to the Trust’s Adults with a Learning Disability (ALD) services, to help protect them from Covid-19. The first vaccination day was held on February 19, with the second on April 13 at the Western Trust’s mass vaccination centre at the Lakeland Forum, Enniskillen. Jabs were administered by the Trust’s vaccination team who were kindly assisted on the day by staff from ALD Services. Over 100 service users who avail of Western Trust Day Care or Day Opportunities attended across both sessions.
