Double-decker bus in Hyderabad: Ashok Leyland sends tender to TSRTC

Hyderabad: Hyderabad might soon see double-decker buses plying on the roads of the city as Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has received tender from Ashok Leyland for 25 such buses.
According to a report in The Hindu, earlier, four companies showed interest and took forms after TSRTC issued a notice inviting tenders (NIT) for the buses. However, only one company, Ashok Leyland sent its bid.

The double decker buses are going to make a comeback in Hyderabad. Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has invited tenders to bring back the services on few routes across the city. The TSRTC officials made it clear that the body of the bus should suit the roads of Hyderabad. Ashok Leyland participated in the tenders and said that they are going to supply the body parts of a bus according to the requirments of TSRTC. The manufacturer said that they are going to supply 25 buses in the first phase. There are chances that the officials of TSRTC may likely to meet in the next two days.

Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has paid salaries to its employees with the state government’s budgetary support.
TSRTC Managing Director Sunil Sharma stated that on the direction of the Transport Minister P. Ajay Kumar proper planning was done and enough savings were done and along with government budgetary support salaries were given to all the RTC employees.
TSRTC revenues improved
He said TSRTC has improved its revenues to Rs 11 crore per day from Rs 2 crore during Covid time. Regular meetings were conducted and RTC staff was motivated to take up measures to improve the revenues of the corporation.
