Perenic/Columbus Disp Southbound traffic on Interstate 71 slows to a crawl near Mapfre Stadium between 17th Avenue and Hudson after an accident involving multiple vehicles on Monday morning. A layer of snow that fell overnight caused multiple crashes Monday morning. The National Weather Service described the low-pressure system that is driving Gulf Coast moisture squarely into Arctic cold  as normal winter for this time of year. But with snow and ice-crusted sidewalks and back streets  three inches on the ground already and eight inches more expected by midweek   the numbing cold and gusty winds feel like an insult to many struggling through the already challenging year.
