Delivery of Next-generation Environmentally Friendly Car Carrier Fueled by LNG “Century Highway Green” On March 12, the “CENTURY HIGHWAY GREEN”, a car carrier fueled by LNG (liquefied natural gas) that had been under construction at Tadotsu Shipyard Co., Ltd., part of the Imabari Shipbuilding Group, has been delivered to “K” LINE. She is a next-generation environmentally friendly vessel expected to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), which is a greenhouse gas (GHG) by 25% to 30%( 1), emissions of sulfur oxides (SOx), which cause air pollution, by almost 100%, and emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) by 80% to 90% with the use of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) in addition to the use of LNG fuel, compared to conventional vessels using heavy fuel oil. The launch of “K” LINE’s first LNG- fueled car carrier realizing transportation with a low environmental impact is an important milestone for achieving the targets set forth in the “K” LINE Environmental Vision

Maersk Drilling secures one-well contract to reactivate Maersk Resolute Submitted by Editorial on Mon, 2021-03-08 00:00 08th March 2021 Maersk Drilling has been awarded a one-well contract by Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V. which will employ the harsh-environment jack-up rig Maersk Resolute to perform well maintenance and drill a side-track of the A9 well at the P9 Horizon field in the Dutch North Sea. Resolute The contract is expected to commence in April 2021, with an estimated duration of 45 days. The contract value is approximately USD 4.5m. Prior to commencement of the contract, Maersk Resolute will be equipped with a high-efficiency Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system which uses ammonia injection to convert NOx into harmless water and nitrogen, expectedly reducing NOx emissions by up to 98%. The design will include an advanced control interface between engines and SCR units.
