Newark men killed in stabbing and shooting, 2 hours apart: police
NEWARK Two men were killed less than two hours apart on city streets very early Saturday, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens.
Around 2:30 a.m., Newark Police officers responded to reports of a stabbing on the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue. Police found 24-year-old Norman Corlette, of Newark, lying on a sidewalk after being stabbed multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers then received reports of shots fired on the 100 block of Madison Avenue around 4:20 a.m., and found 35-year-old Marquise Mclamb, also of Newark, had been shot.

MILLSTONE TOWNSHIP - A township man was killed in a Newark shooting, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II said.
Halee A. Wing, 42, was one of two people shot on Pacific Street in the city’s Ironbound section Tuesday night, officials said.
He was taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:38 p.m., according to authorities.
A surviving victim was also sent to the hospital and is in grave condition, the Prosecutor s Office said.
No arrests have been made. The incident is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department.

Authorities in Essex County are seeking the public s help in locating two persons of interest in connection with the killing of a 63-year-old grandmother.
Debra Derrick was shot on the front porch of a home on the 200 block of Lehigh Avenue in Newark, while celebrating her late twin sister around 8 p.m. on March 11, the Essex County Prosecutor s Office announced.
Derrick who was with her grandchildren and other family members at the time of the incident later died of her injuries, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said.
Man charged in deadly N.J. hit-and-run

An East Orange man was charged in a hit-and-run that killed a 43-year-old woman this week in the city, authorities said Friday.
Peter Andrews, 28, faces charges of knowingly leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle causing death and endangering an injured victim, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi.
Andrews was identified as the driver operating a white Acura that struck Yahaira Marrero-Marcano as she walked in the 200 block of Central Avenue in East Orange around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, the chief and prosecutor said in a statement. The vehicle fled the scene, they said.
