He said this is another wasteful scheme better described as a conduit pipe that had exposed road users’ lives to unnecessary dangers.
“We, therefore, advise Yahaya Bello to borrow a leave from the PDP in the state on how it successfully completed the notorious Meme bridge and others without exposing the lives of good people to any danger,” he advised.
He called on the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) to come to the aid of the people of Kogi State to investigate the failed bridge to avoid other impending dangers to human lives arising from the construction of substandard projects and to ensure that standards are complied with.

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), in Kogi State has taken a swipe on Governor Yahaya Bello over the collapse of Ozuma Bridge, in Okengwe, under Okene Local Government.
The PDP in a statement signed on Tuesday by the Director Media and Communication Dayo Onibiyo, described the development as sad and dangerous, noting that the collapsed Bridge in the home town of Governor Bello was unfortunate.
He said the collapsed bridge, which was allegedly constructed with substandard materials gulped several millions of naira under another wasteful scheme.
The collapsed bridge according to the PDP had further exposed road users’ lives to unnecessary dangers, rather than serve the purpose it was constructed for.

Noted for her distinguished and unique accomplishments and track record, Joanna Olutunmbi Maduka, is the first to attain several feats among the female gender of Nigerian engineers.
With a B.Sc. in applied physics in 1965, she passed the Graduateship Examination of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), (UK) in 1966 and earned an M.Sc. (Engineering) degree from Trinity College, Dublin in 1969.
Exploit minerals with international value, Gov. Oyetola urges FG

Abuja, April 29, 2021 Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun has called on the Federal Government to explore and exploit minerals that have international value.
Oyetola made the call on Thursday in Abuja at the 2021 Annual Public Lecture organised by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Bwari branch, in collaboration with the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development (MMSD).
The event is themed ‘Economic Diversification in the Post COVID-19 Era: Special focus on the Sustainable Development of Nigeria’s Coal and Gold’.
Oyetola, who was represented by Mr Adeniran Ibitoye, Special Adviser to the Governor on Water Resources and Energy, said that alternative mineral resources were overtaking oil and competing for supremacy in the global market.
