Punch Newspapers Sections Published 14 March 2021 Kano State Task Force committee on Fake, Counterfeit Drugs and Unwholesome Foods says it has seized and destroyed fake and counterfeit drugs worth N6 billion in the past nine years. The Chairman of the committee, Gali Sule, disclosed this during an interactive session on Saturday with the Kano state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists. According to him, since the inauguration of the committee in 2012, it has destroyed fake and counterfeit drugs in the state on about 20 different occasions. The committee Chairman attributed the success to the hard work and commitment of its members and also other related agencies established to fight the menace.

DAILY POST gathered that Bello, who is the Ambassador of Nigeria to Mexico, on Friday assaulted a member of Osun State Council of NUJ, Adeniyi Akinromade of OSBC. NUJ B Zone while reacting, called on Bello to publicly apologise to the victim and the general public. This was contained in a communique issued at the end of an emergency meeting of the zone held at NUJ Press Centre in Ibadan, Oyo State on Friday.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that newly-appointed Nigerian ambassador to Mexico, Bello, on Friday, assaulted a journalist in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State. Bello, a two-term former Speaker of the Osun State Assembly, currently representing Nigeria as an Ambassador, publicly attacked Adeniyi Akinromade, a reporter of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation while he was rendering social service during a traffic gridlock. DAILY POST reports that there was gridlock on Friday morning at Oke-Fia in Osogbo and the concerned journalist, decided to help direct vehicles away from the hold-up, to ensure the freef-loww of traffic on the jammed routes.
