As Senator Smart Adeyemi still gets more knocks over his disparaging remarks against Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa who represented Abia North in the eight senate, has told the Kogi West senator that “the senate is not for thugs”.
This is as Abia youths have threatened to stage a mass protest in Abuja if Adeyemi failed to publicly apologise to the governor.
Similarly, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Ukpai Agwu Ukpai, said Senator Adeyemi should be recalled.

Adeyemi had while contributing on the floor of the senate, veered off to attack the person and office of the Abia Governor when he said that “Abia is governed by drunkards”, and that”Ikpeazu is champagne drinking governor”.
The Islamic Scholar had said amnesty to bandits would help calm down the tensed insecurity situation in the North.
However, HURIWA’s National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko said Gumi should be arrested for defending bandits.
A statement by HURIWA reads partly: “We call for the arrest of the Kaduna based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi who has waged a media campaign to defend terrorists.
“Expatriates, government officials and private individuals have not been spared as there have been numerous instances of kidnap and hostage-taking in the Niger Delta region.
“From the perspective of these militants, the taking of hostages is aimed at bending the government’s will to grant resource control to the states which produce oil and which have been affected by the drilling of crude oil on their lands.
