THEY had been at home for 10 months on account of the closure of schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They eagerly returned to school mid last month and were set to write their final examinations, graduate and join in the efforts to develop their father land.
This will no longer be for Samuel Adesomoju Tobi, a final year law student and Oluwasemire Ojinni, a final year Business Administration student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Ondo State.
The duo were among 15 victims of an accident at the university gate on January 23. While Adesomoju was one time president of the Students union of the university, Oluwasemire was the first female president of the National Association of Business Administration and Management Students of AAUA.
Nigeria Immigration ServiceThe Nigeria Immigration Service has deployed the Migration Information Data Analysis System (MIDAS) to various commands of the service to ease operational activities.
Comptroller of Immigration, Mr Bernard Zipamor, of the Seme Command, said this on Friday and has commended Mr Muhammed Babandede, Comptroller General of the Service for the feat. x
Zipamor gave the commendation during a courtesy visit by executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos Council, led by the Chairman, Mr Adeleye Ajayi, to him in Seme.
He said that the NIS had the sole responsibility to control the movement of persons in and out of the country.
NUJ mourns demise of ex-governor of Lagos, Lateef Jakande

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos Chapter, on Thursday mourned the demise of Lagos state’s first civilian governor, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande.
Jakande who died at the age of 91 according to the Union was “an erudite journalist, publisher, administrator par excellence and a political giant”.
A press statement jointly signed by NUJ Lagos Chapter’s Chairman (Adeleye Ajayi) and Secretary (Tunde Olalere), noted some of his achievement thus; “he recorded massive infrastructure development during his tenure, especially in the areas of housing and education (building of schools)”.
