Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Internal Security, gave the update in a statement.
The government earlier announced the rescue of 180 students and staff of the college by troops.
The 39 missing students comprising 23 females and 16 males.
Aruwan said state authorities are maintaining close communication with the management of the college.
He assured that efforts by security agencies toward rescue of the victims would yield results.
Bandits have increased kidnap for ransom attacks in North-West since 2020. Most of their targets are schools.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the bus was handed over to the executive members of the Lagos NUJ led by its Chairman, Adeleye Ajayi, at the foundation’ secretariat in Ikeja.
The Director-General of the foundation, Ipoola Omisore, who presented the bus, said that people know Bola Tinubu as a philanthropist and as somebody who had done a lot in the past to relieve the pains and poverty of many.

The inauguration which took place in the office of the Head of Centre, Federal Information Centre, Port Harcourt, had the Rivers State NUJ Chairman, Mr. Stanley Job and other NUJ executives to administer the oath of office to the new Chapel executives.

A set of new officials that will run the affairs of the Bauchi State Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), for the next three years has been elected with a call on Sports Writers to be professionals in their reportage considering that sports reporting is a specialized field of journalism.
Speaking while inaugurating the new officials, the North-East Vice President of SWAN, Jibo Zakari, congratulated the officials and urged them to consolidate on the successes recorded by the immediate past leadership which they were part of.
