BFF postpones all domestic leagues

Bangladesh Football Federation on Sunday halted all the ongoing domestic leagues as the Bangladesh government has declared a seven-day lockdown across the country for the time being to tackle the spread of coronavirus, starting today.
The second phase of the premier league and championship league, women s football league and third division league are temporarily postponed until April 11.
Only two events men and women football of the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games will continue as Bangladesh Olympic Association has decided to continue the Games as per government instructions.
“We will resume these leagues after a seven-day break after the lockdown. We have already informed all the participating teams of these leagues. Only two leagues of Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games will continue as per as Olympic Association s instruction and under the strict health measures,” BFF general secretary Md

BFF to observe Bangabandhu’s 101 birth anniversary tomorrow

DHAKA, March 16, 2021 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has chalked out elaborate programmes tomorrow to observe the 101 birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The day begins at Quran khwani at BFF Bhaban from 9.30 am, a doa mahfil will be held adjoining Jame mosque of BFF Bhaban after bad Zuhr and after doa and feast will be distributed among the poor people.
The cake cutting ceremony is also part of the programme of BFF. The ceremony will be held at the BFF Bhaban at 2.30 pm. BFF president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin, BFF officials and women’s footballers will present in the cake cutting ceremony.

Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings decided to release one of their local midfielders Robiul Hasan, club president Imrul Hassan confirmed The Daily Sun on Sunday.
“We have decided to release him (midfielder Robiul Hasan) today (Sunday), but we will not release Finnish-born Bangladeshi youngster Tariq Kazi,” said Imrul, who also the Bangladesh Football Federation first vice-president.
Another BPL outfit Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited are expecting Robiul to recruit in their squad. They also requested Kings to release their Finnish-born Bangladeshi youngster Tariq Kazi.
MSC team leader and director Abu Hasan Chowdhury Prince said that they are expecting the 21-year-old midfielder in the second phase of BPL.
