A man from Pemberton Township has been sentenced to seven years in state prison for possessing more than 1,000 images of child sexual abuse and making them available online for others to download.
Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina says 57-year-old Guy Valachovic was sentenced on Friday. He had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Coffina says an investigation began in 2019 after his office received information regarding Valachovic’s online activities. He was charged in August of that year and taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant at his home where multiple electronic devices were seized.
EDGEWATER PARK Two men slain here in January were the unintended victims of a gunman at a birthday party, authorities say.
The alleged gunman, 27-year-old Ronny Paden of Delran, did not target James Gist III, 29, of Westampton and Marcus Thompson, 29, of Willingboro, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor s Office.
Paden, who s accused of shooting the men on Jan. 24, had been released early from prison in November 2020 under a policy meant to curb the spread of COVID-19 among inmates, the prosecutor s office said.
Paden was arrested on May 7 as part of an ongoing investigation, the prosecutor s office said in a statement.

MOUNT HOLLY A Burlington Township man will serve three years in prison on child sex assault charges.
James Hunt, 21, pleaded guilty last week to endangering the welfare of a child in connection with uploading child sex assault images to the internet.
The Threadleaf Terrace man had drawn the attention of Burlington County Prosecutor s Office (BCPO) High-Tech Crimes Unit and had been under investigation since last year.
During a search warrant of his residence, the unit found child sex-abuse files on Hunt s devices.
He and others were arrested during the BCPO’s Operation Safe Quarantine project.
