Palestine thanks Pakistan and its people for condemning Israeli atrocities

LAHORE: Ambassador of Palestine in Pakistan Ahmad Rabaie on Tuesday expressed gratitude for unflinching support of Pakistan and its people to condemn Israeli atrocities.“We appreciate the sentiments and emotions of Pakistanis for speaking up against Israel’s systematic and barbaric oppression of the people of Palestine and demanding the UN probe on human rights violations , Ahmad Rabaie said while talking to the University of Health Sciences (UHS) VC.
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN): Negotiations are currently underway regarding the supply of additional doses of Russia’s Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine to Laos, a source at the Russian Embassy in Laos has said.
Discussions are also being held regarding the commercial imports of the vaccine, developed by Russia’s Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, the source said.
“Now there are discussions and negotiations between the Lao side and the Russian side on the volume of vaccines to be supplied and other conditions, such as what part of the doses will be provided as grants by the Russian government and what part will be commercial supplies, ” the source said.
All public, private schools in Punjab to reopen from June 7

LAHORE: All public and private schools in Punjab in the remaining 20 districts will reopen from June 7, 2021.
On May 21 the Punjab School Education Department had notified reopening of all public and private schools in selected 16 districts from May 24. These districts included Bahawalnagar, Chakwal, Chiniot, Hafizabad, Jhang, Jhelum, Kasur, Mandi Bahauddin, Nankana Sahib, Narowal, Pakpattan, Rajanpur, Sahiwal, Sheikhupura, Sialkot and Vehari.
Now the School Education Minister Murad Raas has announced that public and private schools in the remaining districts would reopen from June 7 with a staggered approach to call students on alternate days with 50% attendance each day.
SC issues notice to PMC in medical student’s case

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday issued a notice to the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) in a matter relating to admissions of medical students and adjourned the hearing for two weeks.
A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Ijazul Ahsen, heard the appeals filed by some 15 students of various medical institutions against the judgment passed by the Lahore High Court on February 4, 2021.
The bench, after hearing the counsel for the petitioners, issued a notice to the Pakistan Medical Commission, asking it to submit its viewpoint within two weeks and adjourned the proceedings.
