PASCAGOULA, Miss., Jan. 08, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) announced today that Keith Munn has been promoted to vice president, business management, and chief financial officer for Ingalls Shipbuilding. In his new role, he will be responsible for all financial management, contract management and business management functions at Ingalls.
Munn will be located at HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division in Pascagoula, and will report to Ingalls Shipbuilding President Brian Cuccias. Munn replaces Tom Stiehle, who has been promoted to HII executive vice president and CFO. Munn will assume this new role on Feb. 15, 2021.
“Keith’s extensive knowledge and accomplished background have been an asset to Ingalls for many years,” Cuccias said. “His experience positions him for success in this important role on our leadership team, and we look forward to working together to continue moving Ingalls Shipbuilding forward.”

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Former State Rep. Gary V. Staples, 80, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
A native of Jones County, Staples served District 88 in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1988 to 1992 and then again in 2004 before retiring in January 2020.
Staples graduated from Glade High School, Jones County Junior College and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He served in the United States Navy and later retired from BellSouth where he worked for 31 years.
Rosemary Collins, Singer and Choir Director, Dies at 51
Her tastes ran from Meat Loaf to Mozart and she brought that spirit of eclecticism to her jobs in schools and a church. She died of complications of the coronavirus.

Three different Lady Eagles reached double figures, but the University of Southern Mississippi ultimately fell, 83-65, to the University of Texas-El Paso Friday at the Don Haskins Center.
USM (2-1, 0-1 Conference USA) trailed by only five points heading into the fourth quarter, but the Lady Miners (4-2, 1-0) outscored the Lady Eagles 23-10 in the final period.
