KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has confirmed that Perak has the highest infectivity rate for Covid-19 nationwide, standing at 1.32.
This is in comparison to the national infectivity average rate of 1.14, as of yesterday and based on the daily number of cases.
In a tweet, he also shared the infectivity rate for the other states in Malaysia, with Terengganu in second place at 1.29.
“Photographs shared by the frontliners who are the nation’s forefront battling the deadly Covid-19 virus.
“This is the true situation in the ICU ward at the moment.
“All beds in the hospital are almost full and at their maximum capacity, ” the ministry in a Facebook post on Friday night (May 14).
The ministry noted that the photographs were taken at Hospital Kajang which has reached its maximum capacity.
“It is the same for Hospital Ampang, Selayang, Sungai Buloh and other Covid-19 hospitals.
“The situation is already crowded, ” the ministry said.
Though facing a dire situation, the ministry said it had not reached the stage where a choice has to be made on whom of the Covid-19 patients is to receive ICU treatment.
