PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia’s daily Covid-19 cases saw a slight decrease after 16,840 new infections were logged in the past 24 hours.
While the figure is an improvement compared to the previous two days, 16,840 cases is the country’s third-highest daily record.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Malaysia’s cumulative total of Covid-19 cases is 1,095,486.
About 51% (8,590 cases) wereclose contacts of patients.
Another 33% (5,683) were sporadic infections while 15% (2,550) were linked to clusters.
There were also 17 imported cases.
Selangor remained the state with the most cases with 6,092 new infections.
Kuala Lumpur was the second highest with 2,114 cases.
Sabah, meanwhile, reported a new daily record of 1,066 cases.
