Battle against Covid-19 is not over, says Dr Noor Hisham

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) said the efforts of MOH in containing Covid-19 transmission in the country would continue and public health facilities have so far been able to take on the pandemic. He was speaking at the launch of a coffee book titled The Fight Against Uncertainty: Hospital Services Journey In Combating Covid-19 , which was conducted virtually here Thursday (Dec 31). While wishing all Malaysians a happy new year, Dr Noor Hisham again reminded the people to comply with the standard operating procedure (SOP) such as observing physical distancing, wearing face mask, washing hands frequently and avoiding crowded places while gathering with the family to welcome the new year.

And eight more deaths were recorded. The latest daily addition is 190 more than the country s previous record high of 2,335 cases, which was recorded last Saturday (Dec 26). The new infections raised confirmed Covid-19 cases to date in Malaysia to 113,010, with the death toll rising to 471. Recoveries, meanwhile, came in at 1,481, brining total recoveries to 88,941 or 78.7% of overall cases.
