New daily cases reach 11, 618

The number beat the country’s record of 11, 079 cases just the previous day. Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the high number was in tandem with the increased targeted screening in the Klang Valley. “The number of Covid-19 tests conducted on July 13 was 131, 706, which is the highest reported in a day over the last 14 days. “However, there is still capacity to conduct more Covid-19 tests, especially at private laboratories. “This capacity will be utilised in the best way in order to conduct more strategic testing, ” he said in his daily statement yesterday. The 41 private laboratories in the country capable of conducting Covid-19 tests processed 36, 443 RT-PCR tests on Tuesday.
