Leaders Chelsea extended their unbeaten run in the Women’s Super League to 33 games with a comprehensive 4-0 win over London rivals Tottenham.
Germany international Melanie Leupolz scored twice as she added a second-half penalty to her first-half opener, while Abbie McManus scored an own goal before Matildas skipper Sam Kerr headed home her ninth league goal of the season.
Tottenham’s loss to Chelsea was their first under manager Rehanne Skinner.

Bristol City banked a crucial victory with a 3-0 result over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
Ebony Salmon scored twice as the basement side moved within two points of their nearest rivals in the table, thereby cutting Brighton’s advantage over them to four points.
It was a perfect start for the hosts, as with lees than three minutes played, Yana Daniels caught Cecile Fiskerstrand off her line to open the scoring.

FA and Premier League statement on concussion substitutes The FA and Premier League released the following joint statement on Friday January 29.
The Football Association and the Premier League have successfully applied to the International Football Association Board (IFAB) to introduce additional permanent concussion substitutions trials across the Premier League, Barclays FA Women’s Super League, FA Women’s Championship and Emirates FA Cup.
The dates for the introduction of the trials include:
Premier League - from February 6, 2021
Barclays FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s Championship - from February 6, 2021
Emirates FA Cup - from the fifth round (February 9-11, 2021)

The FA have successfully applied to the International Football Association Board to introduce additional permanent concussion substitutions trials.
The date for the introduction of the trials in both the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s Championship is 6 February 2021.
With player welfare the priority, the protocols will allow a maximum of two concussion substitutes to be used per team, with the opposition side able to use the equivalent number. The additional concussion substitutions may be made regardless of the number of substitutions a team has made already.
The trial is a result of the IFAB’s consultation with stakeholders and recommendations from their concussion expert group to allow additional substitutions for players with actual or suspected concussion.
