COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Sheriff Matt Myers implores residents to get help as overdose deaths in Bartholomew County continue to rise.
Myers said, “Almost daily, your Bartholomew County Sheriffâs Office (BCSO) deputies receive calls about possible overdoses. On Sunday, a man was found in the back of a car with meth and a syringe in plain view. He was unresponsive but was revived.” After being brought back, BCSO said he seemed to be more concerned about his drugs than the fact that he was alive.
The sheriff continued, “The Narcotics Unit continues to work constantly and has spent a great deal of money in providing help for our community. We can get drugs off our streets, we can revive people, and we can offer the best drug-treatment programs in the world, but it eventually comes down to an individualâs decision.” More help is available than ever before.
