BCSO arrests suspect for warrant, meth

Courtesy- BCSO Sheriff Myers COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) was called to U.S. 31 and Woodland Parks Drive Tuesday evening, in regards to a suspicious person. Deputies located a male and recognized him as Isaiah Perry, 32, of Columbus, who had an outstanding Bartholomew County arrest warrant. He was taken into custody. Law enforcement allegedly found narcotics, paraphernalia, and a digital scale in his possession. BCSO also located suspected methamphetamine in a jacket that the man had apparently dropped near a home in the area. Perry was remanded to Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of meth, possession of paraphernalia, and the warrant.

Mother charged in fatal crash that killed 10-year-old daughter, injured infant child

Mar 4, 2021 / 10:29 AM EST COLUMBUS, In. (WISH) A Columbus mother is facing charges in the fatal January crash that killed her 10-year-old daughter and injured her infant child. The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office this week arrested Katelyn Mings, 29, of Columbus. Mings faces a charge of causing a death when operating a vehicle while intoxicated and a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person less than 18 years of age. Deputies were called to the area of East 25th Street in Columbus around 3 p.m. Jan. 17 on reports of a crash. When they arrived to the scene they found 10-year-old Kaydence Mings dead from injuries sustained in the crash.
