Gunnedah Shire to benefit from improved digital connectivity

Gunnedah Shire Council Gunnedah Shire residents and businesses will soon have improved access to high-speed broadband, with a Gunnedah project being funded through the Federal Government’s Regional Connectivity Program (RCP). Facilitated by Gunnedah Shire Council, the project will be delivered by Field Solutions Group (FSG), which secured more than $3.9 million in Commonwealth funding to improve broadband coverage across Gunnedah and surrounding villages. FSG will provide high-speed broadband through a fixed wireless network, comprising of 10 greenfield 45 metre towers and two co-locations. Mayor of Gunnedah Shire Cr Jamie Chaffey said improved digital connectivity will be game changing for both residents and industry.

iTWire Thursday, 10 June 2021 15:57 TasmaNet gets funds to upgrade comms network for Tasmania’s Tahune Airwalk Shares Tahune Airwalk, southern Tasmania Tasmanian communications provider TasmaNet TasmaNet has received a grant from the Federal Government Regional Connectivity Program to fund the upgrade of the existing communications network at theTahune Airwalk and Warra Ecosystem Observatory in southern Tasmania. TasmaNet will work directly with the Tahune Airwalk and Warra Ecosystem Observatory to undertake the upgrade of the existing network. TasmaNet CEO Rob Vernon said, “The Tahune Airwalk is a major draw card for the Huon Region, and currently there is only a small area onsite where WiFi is available. From a tourism perspective, this limits the amount of promotion visitors can share online.”.
