This morning at approximately 1:25 a.m., members of the West New York Police Department reported a brush fire behind the West New York Swim Club in the area of 60th Street, Boulevard East and Anthony M. Defino Way, Suarez said in a statement.

When officers arrived they found an unresponsive three-year-old girl who had fallen into a septic sewer tank. She had been pulled out before police arrived. On March 3, Mathew Mortimer was fatally stabbed on Ave. C between 53rd and 54th Streets. Under investigation On Saturday, March 6 at approximately 11:15 p.m., the Bayonne Police Department received a report of shots fired in the area of East 49th Street and Avenue E in Bayonne. Police Officers found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as Anthony Alvarado, 27, of Bayonne, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at approximately 11:59 p.m.
