Photos of British High Commissioner Christian Turner cleaning the trash in Islamabad are doing the rounds on social media.
âAnother Friday morning walk, another two bags of litter,â Christian tweeted, posting photos showing himself carrying large plastic bags. âCleanliness is half of faith.â
The diplomatâs photos were widely appreciated, but some people pointed out that it was a shame that a foreigner had to pick trash in the country’s capital. Hamza Shafqaat, the Islamabad deputy commissioner, left Twitter surprised after he praised Christian and commented: âGreat.â

ISLAMABAD: Information and Broadcasting Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Friday announced that England’s cricket team would visit Pakistan later this year.
In a Twitter posting via @fawadchaudhry following a meeting with British High Commissioner Christian Turner, the minister said: “Lovely meeting [with] my friend @CTurnerFCDO. Extremely delighted to know that after the gap of sixteen years, October this year English Cricket Team will be visiting Pak and next year again for a full test series,we have come a long way from the devastating attack on SL (Sri Lanka)team.”

The British Envoy assured of maximum support on the proposals put forth by the Information Minister.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Friday emphasized on strengthening cooperation in film production and related fields to promote cultural linkages between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
He said this while talking to British High Commissioner Christian Turner, who called on him in Islamabad on Friday.
Chaudhry called for joint Pak-UK television productions and documentaries, commemorating the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan.
The minister apprised the High Commissioner regarding the Government s initiative to establish Media Technology University and sought assistance from the British side to build it on the pattern of top UK universities.
