Saudi govt will take Pakistan into confidence before making a final decision, clarifies minister for religious affairs

Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Noorul Haq Qadri has said the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has not yet taken a final decision about the number of pilgrims and SOPs (standard operating procedures) for Hajj 2021.
In a video statement on Sunday, he said that Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah in a telephonic conversation with him had confirmed that Hajj policy 2021 had not been finalised and media reports about the number of pilgrims were mere recommendations from the Saudi Ministry of Health.

‘Religious tourism to expand tie-up between Pakistan, Sri Lanka’

President Dr Arif Alvi has said that Pakistan highly values its ties with Sri Lanka as both countries enjoy excellent relations based on mutual respect and trust. He made these remarks while talking to a delegation of Sri Lankan Buddhist monks in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Dr Alvi said Pakistan considers Sri Lanka as a special partner and friend. He maintained that people-to-people contact and religious tourism provide excellent platforms to further expand bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

In a video statement, he said the decision was taken after another round of talks with the recently proscribed Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
While the minister said that the resolution will be presented later today, there is no session scheduled for Tuesday. A day earlier, the session was adjourned to meet again on April 22 (Thursday) at 2pm.
