LOCK HAVEN – Alexandro Dunkelberger, a freshman biology major at Lock Haven University and an ROTC cadet with the Bald Eagle Battalion, recently was awarded a University of Pittsburgh Project Go Russian Language Scholarship.
The University of Pittsburgh’s highly competitive Project Go scholarships provide intensive first- through fourth-year Russian summer language programs to ROTC students nationwide. Over eight weeks, students cover the equivalent of one academic year of language training.
Pitt Project Go scholarships help students make quick progress toward their degree requirements, provide study abroad opportunities and increase ROTC students’ competitiveness for additional scholarship opportunities like Boren and Critical Language Scholarships – and when commissioning.

Larry Ward stood before a gathering of Pennsylvania College of Technology administrators, faculty and students, community leaders, and member of his family, on a sun-splashed spring afternoon on the grounds of the campus to remind everyone that manufacturing is alive and well in America.
Behind him stood the Larry A. Ward Machining Technologies Center, a newly revamped facility thanks to a donation of over $1 million, the largest alumni gift in the school’s history.
Ward, a 1966 graduate, made it clear that it was the college he returned to Tuesday that helped mold him.
“Penn College is what America needs to bring manufacturing back to America,” he said.

Graduation ceremonies at the Pennsylvania College of Technology this spring will include graduates from Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 participating in 12 in-person events.
The commencements are scheduled for May 14, 15 and 16 at the Community Arts Center.
“Commencement is the ultimate celebration of the achievements earned by a college graduate,” said Carolyn R. Strickland, vice president for enrollment management/associate provost.
“At Penn College, commencement ceremonies have always been cherished opportunities to collectively gather for a celebration with friends, families and classmates,” Strickland added.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Penn College is modifying the “traditional” approach to graduation.
“We are committed to providing a memorable event for our graduates and families under the restrictions and guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Pennsylvania Department of Health,” Strickland said.
