A nor’easter expected to hit the Lehigh Valley on Sunday afternoon and continue into Tuesday is forecast to drop about a foot of snow.
“This storm is likely to bring significant accumulating snowfall to portions of the forecast area,” the National Weather Service said in a forecast discussion Saturday afternoon.
The weather service updated a winter storm watch to a winter storm warning across an area encompassing Lehigh, Northampton, Upper Bucks and Warren counties.

As winter weather is anticipated throughout the state on Jan. 31, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is telling motorists to avoid unnecessary travel on that day.
Travel restrictions are expected to be put into place for trucks and other vehicles on certain roadways throughout the state, according to the news release.
