Pella Regional s Fletcher Receives Quarterly DAISY Award | KNIA KRLS Radio

Pella Regional Health Center announced that Tonya Fletcher, RN, in the Pella Regional Medical-Surgical Unit is the recipient of the 2021 quarterly DAISY award. The program is a national award, given at the local level, to registered nurses who exemplify extraordinary nursing. The focus is on special touches and human consideration that these nurses give to their patients. Excerpt from Tonya’s nomination: “Our department has been quite busy these past few months in 2021. Many staff members are working late hours or extra to ensure our patients’ needs are met. Tonya has helped out numerous times by staying late or taking extra call without batting an eye. Pella Regional Receives a 5-Star Rating

Pella Regional Health Center recently earned a 5-star rating for overall hospital quality from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Pella Regional is one of only twelve 5-star hospitals in the state of Iowa and the only one in Pella Regional’s 11 county service area. “At Pella Regional, we are committed to providing the best care to each and every patient,” said Bob Kroese, CEO. “We are honored to receive a 5-star ranking from CMS and I would like to thank our providers and staff for the outstanding quality of health care they provide to our patients.” CMS assigns stars based on 48 measures in five categories: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, and timely and effective care. The overall goal of the program is for hospitals to be more transparent and allow stakeholders to make informed decisions. The public can compare hospitals online at www.medicare.gov/hospitalcompare.
