A Love Locks installation has been unveiled, similar to what you might see in Paris. “The installation is a celebration of love and unity, paying homage to the tremendous efforts of our front line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Generously created and donated by Bellevue Fabricating, supporters can decorate the 8 ft by 8 ft heart by purchasing their own personalized padlock online at bghflovelocks.ca. Each coloured padlock represents a donation value and is intended to express the communities’ love for our amazing front line heroes,” said Steven Cook, BGHF Executive Director.

Maurice Rollins dies at the age of 94

Image courtesy of United Way - Hastings Prince Edward. Maurice Rollins has died at the age of 94. The local entrepreneur, businessman and philanthropist passed away yesterday. His impact and legacy can be seen all over the region. Rollins was a big supported of United Way – Hastings and Prince Edward. He created a campaign in 2008, that was renamed the Maurice Rollins Leadership Challenge for United Way Hastings Prince Edward, last year. Rollins would match new donations and over the years helped raise over $2 million. Throughout the course of his life, he also continued to support many organizations including the Belleville General Hospital Foundation, Salvation Army and Enrichment Centre For Mental Health.
