Residents in Northumberland County who are still in need of a first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, have a new option.
This week, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit has launched a new standby list. This is for extra doses of vaccine at the end of clinic days.
“There could be leftover doses for a variety of reasons. Our goal is to ensure that vaccine gets into someone’s arm rather than be wasted,” said Dr. Natalie Bocking, Medical Officer of Health for the HKPR District Health Unit.
People can submit their info on the health unit’s website. This is not a book tooling, and only when extra doses are left will people be called.
