White-knuckle drives are common for truckers on many of America’s bridges, especially during intense weather. But even on nice days, the narrow lanes and tall heights of some bridges can be nerve-racking. These are four more of the scariest bridges, according to comments on the FreightWaves Facebook page.
Outerbridge Crossing
The Outerbridge Crossing also known as simply the Outerbridge is a cantilever bridge that spans the Staten Island Sound between Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and Staten Island, New York. It’s one of three vehicular bridges connecting New Jersey with Staten Island. Like the others, the Outerbridge is maintained and operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. NEW YORK (WABC) The High Line will be extended to connect to the newly opened Moynihan Train Hall, providing an alternate way to access Amtrak and LIRR, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday as part of his State of the State address.
The proposal will extend the High Line to create new public space and ease foot traffic in the area.
As part of a public-private partnership, Brookfield Property Group will partner with Empire State Development, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and Friends of the High Line to build an L-shaped connection from the 10th Avenue terminus of the High Line to Brookfield s Manhattan West public space.

Cuomo signed the Healthy Terminals Act, which among other things,
grants local governments the authority to set prevailing wages and
overtime rates for covered airport workers. Starting September 1,
2021, covered airport employers must pay a covered airport worker
the prevailing wage, as set by the comptroller of a city. Due to
the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey s status as a
bi-state entity, there are some questions as to whether the Healthy
Terminals Act would apply in the absence of a corresponding New
