Dane Armstrong was hauled before magistrates after he committed the offence at a branch of Bargain Booze in Barrow. The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing of knife in a public place. Staff at the off-licence acted quickly to allow Armstrong to be arrested by police. And they have been praised for their ‘quick thinking’ during the incident. Two men jailed following masked burglary in which woman was threatened with crowbar TWO men have been jailed after breaking into a woman s home and threatening her with a crowbar. The men, who were handed sentences at Preston Crown Court on Friday were involved in the aggrevated burglary, for which two other men are still at large. Police were called around 9.15am on Monday October 12, after receiving reports that four men wearing balaclavas and carrying weapons had entered an address in Stuart Avenue in Morecambe and threatened a woman. She managed to run away with the men then leaving in a vehicle.

Lancashire man jailed after slashing 57-year-old s neck with cut throat razor

A MAN has been jailed after slashing another man’s neck with a cut throat razor. Alex Lapinski launched an unprovoked attack on his victim in the toilets of a Lancashire hotel in January last year. The victim, a 57-year-old man from Morecambe, suffered a 10-centimetre cut to the neck and was lucky to survive the injury. Police were called to The Pier Hotel in Morecambe, and Lapinki was quickly arrested. He was charged the next day. Following a trial, Lapinki, 57, of Aberdeen Road, Lancaster, was convicted of attempted murder. At Preston Crown Court on Friday, he was jailed for 12 years and will be subject to a life licence on his release.
