Health Minister Oscar Ugarte has received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and has urged Peruvians to lend their shoulder. We have met our duty to get vaccinated against COVID-19 by waiting our turn and without skipping the queue. Let us continue to lend our shoulder, he posted on Twitter.
The minister took the opportunity to extend his best wishes to mothers on their day. I would like to express my appreciation to those mothers who have come here to get vaccinated, this is surely their best gift, as well as those who are working for everyone to get vaccinated, Ugarte pointed out.
The Peruvian Government will boost an information campaign to assure the population that vaccines against COVID-19 are safe, as well as to counter the lies claiming that these do not work, <a href="https://www.gob.pe/institucion/pcm/funcionarios/33469-violeta-bermudez-valdivia "target=" blank"

Peruvian Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez reiterated the commitment of the Transition and Emergency Government to ensure that women s rights are protected, thus highlighting their role in strengthening democracy.
Remarks were made during a ceremony at the Government Palace to mark the unveiling of the bust of Maria Jesus Alvarado, who is considered a pioneer in the fight for women s rights in Peru. The Transition and Emergency Government is committed to this, and we are confident that the role of women in strengthening democracy will be reclaimed in the critical context that we are experiencing, Bermudez expressed. In 1911, when women were not even considered citizens, she (Alvarado) gave a speech about feminism, and put forward principles that remain challenges today: women s right to education, to access to public service, to vote, and to equality at home, she said.

The cargo landed at Lima s Jorge Chavez International Airport on Thursday evening (local time) on a KLM flight from the city of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. The arrival of these doses gives us hope, because we need to make more rapid strides in this immunization process. This batch has gotten here thanks to the efforts made by our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and the efforts led by the President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti and Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez in order to reach a new agreement with Pfizer, he expressed.

10:19 | Lima, May. 6. Starting May 10, Metropolitan Lima and Callao will move back to very high risk level for COVID-19, which means restrictions such as the mandatory social immobility (curfew) imposed on Sundays will be lifted.
According to Cuenca, the classification as very high risk level in Lima and Callao will apply from May 10 to 30.
However, both cities will remain in extreme level through May 9, which prevents citizens from leaving their homes on Sunday, among other restrictions.
On Mother s Day, as previously mentioned by the Government s spokespersons, a curfew will be in place across the country, and citizens will be allowed to go out only to get food and medicine, on foot or by bicycle, since the use of private vehicles will be restricted, too.
