Peru s Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez on Wednesday affirmed that the first batch of the COVID-19 vaccines will be principally used to protect those who care for us, that is to say, to health care workers across the country.
In an interview with Piura-based Cutivalu radio station, the high-ranking official explained that the implementation of the vaccination process once the doses arrive will be gradual: The vaccines will first reach the warehouse and then will be distributed throughout the national territory. We will have a gradual vaccination. The staff on the frontline of healthcare will be the priority in the first phase and then, the vaccines will gradually become available to the population, she explained.

According to the high-ranking official, this measure includes satellite internet and the rural Wi-Fi system for the benefit of 1.6 million citizens especially in remote areas and various rural communities.
