Andhra Odisha Border (AOB) Special Zonal Committee (SZC) member Muttannagari Jalandhar Reddy alias Maranna alias Karuna, who surrendered before Director General of Police (DGP) D. Gautam Sawang on Tuesday, said there were no recruitments in the CPI (Maoist) for the last few years.
The Maoist leader, who had served in various capacities in the banned outfit for more than two decades, said the strength of the party had been dwindling by the day.

The Maoists have, however, not raised any formal demands for the release of the commando as yet.

New Delhi: The outlawed CPI (Maoists) organisation on Wednesday, released a photograph of CoBRA commando Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, who went missing after the April 3 exchange of fire in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region.
Manhas was suspected as having been held captive. On Tuesday, the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DSZC) of the banned organisation released a press note asking for interlocutors.

A day ago, the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) released a statement where it demanded that the State government announce a mediator for the release of the commando.
Refusing to divulge details on the negotiation, a senior police official said that the commando would be brought back soon.
The abducted commando, identified as Rakeshwar Singh Minhas, belongs to the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) unit of the CRPF, which is specially trained for operations in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas.
