cblack@newsandsentinel.com PARKERSBURG A Parkersburg man was arrested this week after his child was found in the middle of a busy roadway, among other dangers to the child. Timothy James Middleton, 19, 2604 Pike St. Apt. 4, Parkersburg, is being charged with gross child neglect after an incident in March, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court. On March 19, officers responded to Middleton’s residence after they received a call reporting a child wearing only a diaper in a roadway, the complaint said. Two witnesses said they both almost ran the child over; one witness said they had to swerve and the other said he locked his brakes, causing his vehicle to go sideways in the middle of the road, the complaint said.

cblack@newsandsentinel.com PARKERSBURG This week’s drug bust resulting in the arrest of seven people from Parkersburg stemmed from an investigation beginning in November. The Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force began a drug trafficking investigation and this month, the task force intercepted a conversation from a cell phone belonging to Mary Elizabeth Curran, 35, 1314 Spring St., Parkersburg, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court. “During the course of this investigation, agents were able to intercept copious amounts of communications to and from individuals detailing suspected sales or purchases of controlled substances,” the complaint said. Last week, Curran asked a known supplier of controlled substances in Columbus if he could bring her clothes, the complaint said. Clothing, or more specifically “shirts,” are common slang terms used for drugs, according to the complaint.

cblack@newsandsentinel.com PARKERSBURG Seven people were arrested Tuesday in connection with drug sales following search warrants and controlled purchases executed by the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force following a long-term investigation. In April, the task force conducted a controlled purchase of heroin from Toni Johnson, 56, 909 13th St., Parkersburg, through from an informant, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court. During the transaction, heroin was exchanged for cash which was documented by audio, video and agent observation, the complaint said. Following a search warrant of Johnson’s 13th Street residence Friday, 84 grams of heroin was seized along with multiple firearms and items related to drug sales, according to the complaint.

Autumn Dawn Wilson Gregory O’Brien Long Jr. PARKERSBURG Following a drug investigation stemming from a fatal overdose, two Parkersburg residents were arrested Thursday. Gregory O’Brien Long Jr., 32, 630 Liberty St., Apt. A, Parkersburg and Autumn Dawn Wilson, 31, same address, were taken into custody after the Parkersburg Police Department found over five grams of fentanyl along with items related to drug sales inside the residence, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Wood County Magistrate Court. Said items were found in Wilson’s bedroom and during an interview, she admitted to selling fentanyl as recently as April 17, the complaint said.
