Charles D. Royston Jr., 21, of St. Paul, was shot multiple times Thursday night and died at the scene, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office. Officers located a wounded Royston on the ground in the alley about 10 p.m. after responding to a ShotSpotter activation and several people calling 911, police said. Tresean Spears, 24, of Robbinsdale, was shot multiple times shortly before 2 p.m. Friday in the 3700 block of N. Quail Avenue, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office. Police said Tuesday that no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Spears was slumped over in the vehicle when an officer on patrol stopped to check on him, police said. The incident does not appear to be random in nature, a statement from police said. Police Chief Pat Foley made an appeal for anyone with information about the killing to contact police at 763-531-1220.

Paul Nurnberger, 50, died Thursday afternoon of smoke inhalation suffered during the blaze at the residence in the 400 block of NE. Broadway, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office said. Fire crews responded about 2 a.m. that day on the first floor, where they found Nurnberger near a back door, according to a Fire Department incident report. Nurnberger was taken by paramedics to HCMC and died there. A resident on the second floor was able to flee the fire without assistance, said Fire Chief Bryan Tyner.

Kim L. Theng, 54, died from blows to the head on Nov. 17 after being taken to North Memorial Health Hospital, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office said Wednesday. No arrests have been announced. A call to law enforcement about 9:20 a.m. sent officers to Theng s home in the 3300 block of N. Sheridan Avenue, where they discovered her unconscious, police said.
