A 29-year-old man has been charged with murder after police say he shot and killed a woman inside her home in front of her children in Anderson on Sunday.
Dmicah Larand Beard, of Marion, was charged with murder and two counts of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon one day after Sharmice Boyd, 33, of Anderson, was found shot near the front door of her home in the 1500 block of Walton Street shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday.
Boyd was taken to a hospital, where she died.
According to Anderson police, several witnesses gave arriving officers a description of the suspect in the shooting, and police soon arrested Beard in the 1800 block of

Madison County and the Madison County Sheriff recently completed installation of an updated security camera system in the Madison County Detention Facility.
The camera system is provided by Verkada, Inc., a California based company. As has been reported by Bloomberg and other media outlets, numerous Verkada systems across the country, were recently illegally accessed resulting in the public release of information and images which would normally not be accessible by the general public. Images from the Madison County Detention Facility were included in this unauthorized release.

RICHMOND â A London man was arrested on a first-degree robbery charge in Richmond on Tuesday.
Daterrion Brigance, 19, turned himself in after Richmond Police Department made a social media post asking for information about his whereabouts.
The post was made at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday and the police department updated that he was arrested at 11:40 p.m.
As of Friday, he is being held in the Madison County Detention Center.Â
No further details about the incident leading to his arrest were available.
Brigance is a former South Laurel football player and had signed a letter of intent to play football at Lindsey Wilson College this school year.
County board deals with multiple financial issues

EDWARDSVILLE Environmental grants totaling $137,196 were among a large number of financial issues dealt with by the Madison County Board at Wednesday’s regular meeting.
A total of 10 grants, paid through the county’s host fee, were approved. Grants ranged fro about $8,300 to $15,000, with most being at the $15,000 mark.
Those included grants to Alton, Collinsville, Edwardsville, Godfrey, Hamel, Maryville and Williamson. Wood River received $12,714, Alhambra $8,807 and the Tri-Township Park District in Troy $8,390.
Costs include $6,500 for county-sponsored competitions and programs; $3,000 for meetings, training and scholarships for green school coordinators; $5,625 for coordinator and school recognition; and $27,275 for 13 separate school grants and incentive programs.
